Inland Paper Corporation relies on a Valve and Filter duplex filter system to keep it's mill water sparkling clean. The skid-mounted system includes two models VAF2003LP, 3" filters complete with 50 micron stainless steel fine screens. Each filter is rated at 130gpm. Isolation valves allow either filter - or both to be used at any time.
A 3" kimbal automatic bypass valve operated by the filter controller will open if a filter malfunction occurs. This insures water will always be available to the system - even if a surge of dirt should blind the screen. The controller will also show an alarm condition and this will remain on until manually reset.
A VF4-AC electronic filter controller manages operation of both filters and the automatic bypass valve. It can be set for operation of either filter, or both in parallel if desired. The filters are flushed sequentially whenever a 7 to 8 psi differential is detected across the inlet-outlet flanges on the system. The controller also has a back-up adjustable time that will initiate a flush cycle if a PD flush has not occurred in the timed set period. An LCD read-out on the panel counts the total flushes since last reset, displays the time since the last flush and shows the operational mode of the filter at all times.
Engineered, designed and manufactured by Valve and Filter Corp, this skid-mounted system made installation a snap for Inland. Inlet and outlet piping plus 120vac supplied to the controller - were all the connections required. VAF specializes in custom designed complete filter systems.
