The VAF 2000 design is time tested and proven as a
reliable self-cleaning screen filter. The VAF 2000 filter
utilizes a simple hydraulic motor in combination with a
hydraulic piston to move cleaning nozzles across the
screen during a cleaning cycle. There is no complex
electric motor to wire or repair.
The VAF 2000 filters’ 5 to 30 second flush cycle is
automatically initiated when a pressure differential
across the screen increases to 7 psi. The filter remains
on line, and the filtration process remains uninterrupted
during the cleaning process. And the flush discharge is
the lowest available resulting in minimal waste.
VAF 2000 filters are constructed to ASME code and are
designed to incorporate a broad range of construction
materials, and pressure and temperature options. And
Valve and Filter custom manufactures filters and skids
that simplify installation and meet specific requirements.

The VAF2000 automatic self cleaning water filter is a screen filter with an efficient, quick flush. It will remove silt, scale, sand, dirt and organic materials such as algae, zebra mussels and clams from virtually all types of water sources. VAF2000 filters can be used on Cooling Towers, River or City Water and can be fitted with food grade components.
Pressurized water enters the filter inlet and travels through
a coarse screen where large particles are pre-filtered. The water then passes
through a fine screen where small contaminants (down to 15 microns) are filtered.
The clean water then exits the filter.
When the fine screen becomes contaminated, a pressure differential across the screen is sensed causing the electronic controller to open the flush valve. After a preset time, the flush valve closes and the rinse cycle is complete. Please note the filter continues to supply water to the system during rinse cycle. The flush water flows through the dirt collector, the reactor motor and out to the flush valve(s) to atmosphere.
The water passing through the angular holes in the hydraulic motor creates torsional rotation of the nozzles, thus vacuuming the entire surface area of the filter element. When the screen is clean, the unit automatically returns to the full filtering mode.
The entire cleaning cycle takes approximately 5-30 seconds. It should be noted that even during the back-flush cycle, clean water flow to the system is not interrupted.
