A state of the art wastewater treatment plant in Breckenridge Colorado was in need of filtration for two processes. They
needed to filter incoming waste following a clarifier. They also needed a filter to clean water to be used for the flushing
of their biological aerated filters (BAF units).

Three VAF2012 automatic filter units were selected. They were piped in such a way that each process would use one
filter with the third filter being used for redundancy. The filters are controlled by computer and their status can be
easily monitored remotely.

Recently the three filters were upgraded to utilize treated plant water to operate both the flush valve and piston.
Setting up the filters to run on a clean source of water keeps these parts operating longer and virtually eliminates the
need to clean out ports and fittings.

These VAF filters are an integral part of the EPA award winning plant.
