The model VF1-B filter controller is a battery operated computer designed
to control the flushing sequence of most automatic flushing water filters
including screen filters, sand filters and media filters. It will automatically
flush the filter on a predetermined timed cycle, or if differential pressure
flushing is selected, a backup timed sequence may be utilized by the timer
cycle as a backup flush. The controller operates on battery power utilizing
a 3-way pulse solenoid valve to open and close one or more hydraulic or pneumatic
operated flush valve(s) on the filter for a predetermined length of time.
Both flushing time as well as the interval time between flushes are adjustable
over a wide range of settings designed to accommodate almost any type of automatic
flushing filter. Manually flushed filters can usually be automated by adding
a new flush valve(s). The solenoid pilot valve is included with the controller.
An LED lamp indicates when the 3-way valve is "pulsed" to start the flushing cycle and when the valve is "pulsed" again indicating the cycle is complete and the filter is back in normal operation.
The controller uses two (2) 9 volt lithium batteries obtainable at most Radio Shack and other electronic stores. Lithium batteries are guaranteed for three (3) years or 60,000 operations. Any standard 9 volt battery may be used but both reliability and operations will be reduced.
